Toormina Community Preschool
Toormina Community Preschool is “not for profit” and has been proudly operating since 1976.
We provide education and care for 3 – 5 year olds during school terms from 8am – 3.30 or 4pm. The preschool is situated next to ALDI in Toormina just on the outskirts of Sawtell.

Our service philosophy focuses on building respectful relationships and providing quality education in collaboration with families. We believe children learn best through play.

We acknowledge and show respect to the traditional custodians of the land, the Gumbaynggirr people, on which we live, learn and play. We pay our respects to the elders of the past, present and emerging.
Enrolment
Toormina Community Preschool takes enrolments at anytime throughout the year if vacancies exist. We encourage families to visit the preschool and observe the program, meet the educators and decide if this is the environment that best meets yours and your child's needs.

Waitlist applications are accepted at any time. We are advising all families who submit a waitlist application, that our receipt of an application does not guarantee your child’s enrolment. Enrolment will be offered in consideration of the following:

The NSW Department of Education Start Strong Funding Guidelines for Community Preschools.

Priority of access as described in above Guidelines

Toormina Community Preschool Enrolment Policy

Child has an up-to-date Immunisation History Statement

Available vacancies.
Also note: Applications for children turning 4 after 31 July in year of enrolment (who do not meet Department of Education equity enrolment guidelines) will be accepted. However, these positions are limited and children will be offered enrolment only as vacancies allow. Please contact the preschool for further information.

At Toormina Community Preschool educators are passionate about building and nurturing strong and respectful relationships with children, families, colleagues, committee members and the broader community.
Educators work in collaborative partnerships with families and view them as a child’s first and most influential teacher in life. We believe these partnerships provide the best support for children as they make progress in the learning outcomes set out in the Early Years Learning Framework.
